Journey into the Past with the Founders

Founder of Exmouth walking tour

I’m the founder of Exmouth Tours, a global wanderer at heart, who sought out walking tours in every city I visited – Cairo, Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, you name it!

These tours were always my gateway to absorbing local life and culture.

My passion for exploration led me back to my roots in Exmouth, where I channelled my experiences around the globe to unveil a fascinating tapestry of local history and tales.

A Town Steeped in History

Exmouth has been the heart of stirring tales for centuries.

It is a town where the echoes of smugglers and pirates intertwine with the ancient roar of dinosaurs.

It’s Devon’s oldest beach town – it was dubbed a coastal paradise by King George III’s physician in the 1700s – so you’re in good company when you’re on holiday here!

Discover what connection Exmouth has to the world’s first computer programmer, hear some heartwarming tales of RNLI rescue and learn why our part of the Jurassic Coast (the only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site in the country) is the oldest!

All of this and more intertwine to create our fantastic tour route.

So, where exactly does this tour route go?

Our trip begins at Exmouth Tourist Information Centre, the nucleus of the town.

From there, we make our way through The Beacon, dip down to the Maer – a dino fan’s delight – before basking in the warmth of the sun-kissed beach.

Our journey concludes at the iconic Exmouth clock tower.

In a leisurely 90-minute stroll, you will traverse 2.5 kilometres of Exmouth’s historical canvas.

A Walking Tour for Everyone

There’s a gentle uphill and downhill section on the tour, with some uneven ground on the Maer. We walk at a gentle pace, pointing out interesting sites on the way.

Do you have accessibility needs? We’re on it. An alternative route is under development for our wheelchair users. Keep an eye out for updates!

The tours are a family attraction! Our young explorers are not just welcome but rewarded with activity worksheets to stoke their curiosity.

We’re dog-friendly too, just keep your furry friends on a lead, please!
