Hi, my name’s Claire
And I’m the person behind Go South West. I’m a fake Bristolian; I am originally from London, but I consider Bristol to be my home. After studying here for four years, I spent a year in Bath, and then several more travelling the world, before coming back to Bristol. Although I have been incredibly lucky to have been to many places all over the globe, there’s nowhere quite like Bristol.
I spent a lot of my childhood in Devon and Cornwall as well; my gran lived in Exmouth in Devon and my father is Cornish and it remains his favourite place in the world. Growing up in London, I was always told stories about the beauty and uniqueness of Cornwall, something that I always saw on trips there.
I’ve worked in Wiltshire, and done a few trips to the Cotswolds, but while I know some South West regions like the back of my hand, I am also exploring others for the first time.
This blog will focus on both the places that I know really well, and my travels around the area, as I get to know new places. I hope that it will inspire you to see more of this region and to learn all about the fascinating stories that it has to tell.
I hope to eventually have the entirety of Bristol, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Wiltshire, and Gloucestershire covered here.
I hope you enjoy reading this blog!
